Kimberly Carlisle grew up in Portola Valley. She is a triplet and one of six kids. Growing up she played competitive tennis and played varsity tennis at Woodside Priory High School. Kimberly majored in English Literature and earned a Master’s in elementary education from the University of Virginia. While at UVA, Kimberly studied literature at Oxford University and student taught kindergarten in Belfast, Northern Ireland. As a student at UVA, Kimberly enjoyed volunteering for adaptive ski, where she skied with children who have disabilities. She also taught tennis to children and adults through the tennis department and edited for her college newspaper.
Kimberly’s hobbies include playing tennis, running, hiking, skiing, reading, and writing.
Kimberly taught second grade at St. Raymond School in Menlo Park for three years. She enjoyed coaching the Girls on the Run team at St. Raymond, leading the yearbook club, and coaching the literature Academic Decathlon team.
