The Chalice Book is a compilation of interviews conducted by the class of 2017. During the 2016-17 school year, eighth graders worked in pairs to interview priests from the San Francisco Archdiocese about their chalices and photograph them. Each priest that was interviewed for the book shared their own unique story about their chalice's meaning and symbols. Chalices can be the most precious item a priest owns and each one is a reminder of the family member or dear friend that gifted the chalice.
The book debuted at St. Mary's Cathedral on September 29, 2017 at the Archdiocesan’s annual luncheon benefiting the priest's retirement fund. All proceeds from sales of this book will be donated to support the retired priests of the San Francisco Archdiocese.
